Katrina was commissioned by the Material Science Research Centre to develop a collection of textile-like samples from a bio-composite. A Bacterial Cellulose, developed by Dr. Miriam Ribul (MSRC) was manipulated using different textile approaches which included hand stitch, folds, pleats and dyeing using excess onion skins from a local restaurant, applying craft-based approaches to biomaterials.
